Trends in Photon Detectors for Particle Physics and Calorimetry, workshop, Trieste, June 2008

Home

Foreword

This workshop is intended to bring together researchers in various fields that are interested in the development of state-of-the-art photon detectors optimized for calorimetry and/or other particle physics applications.

Aims

Primary goals of this focused meeting are to share different experience and techniques and to create a cooperative effort for coordinated development and test programs.

Solid state photo-detectors (APD, SiPM) become increasingly popular and their properties for high-resolution calorimetry need to be fully explored. A close collaboration of scientists engaged in the design of frontier detectors and experts from high-tech companies is key for successful results.

Format

Due to the concise format of the meeting, 1-2 participants per mainstream project are normally expected. The total number of participants will be limited to about 35.
